Dancing horse

This is just so amazing!

We are both afraid of horses, do not dare to go near them but they are such beautiful animals!

We came across this fantastic video - the Danish Andreas Helgstrand on Blue Hors Matine. Turn up your speakers and watch this horse dance!

Sigurds morning routine

Sigurd plays every morning

Every morning after being fed and having checked the garden to see nothing has changed overnight and having told the birds he’s awake, Sigurd has his morning routine. He knocks over his toy box, checks everything is there and then he scatters his toys and goes to our office to get his sack chair and then drags it into the living room!

We bought him this baby sack chair several years ago and it’s his favorite, he plays with it, sleeps in it and chews bones in it - when needed the sack chair goes into the washmachine and the tumble dryer and it is as good as new. Sigurd has never chewed up things, lucky for us, just imagine the content of the sack chair all over the house!

Shingles!

Mr. Hult was on Monday diagnosed with Shingles and is now being treated with Zovir.

Shingles is a very painful kind of rash and you can only get it if you’ve had Chicken Pox earlier in life. Mr. Hult started getting pains in his armpit on friday and then the pain spread to his breast area and onto his back, no rash to be seen, only pains and stinging.

In Danish this condition is called “Fires of hell” (helvedesild) because of the severe burning and stinging sensation and pains. Luckily Mr. Hult has no rash (yet) and our hope is, since he’s being treated at an early stage he might not get the rash and blisters. If a person gets the rash and blisters others who have not had Chicken Pox shouldn’t come near, they could develope Chicken Pox then. You can not pass on Shingles to others.

How unfair people can get Shingles years after having Chicken Pox, as if Chicken Pox isn’t painful enough!Anyone who have had Chicken Pox never forgets!

Please keep Mr. Hult in your thoughts and wish for a speedy recovery. Thank you.

Today is mine….

Been in the garden all day, it’s been wonderful weather finally after several rainy days.

While working in the garden came to think of an old song I (Mrs. Hult) loved many years ago but have forgotten about. Today it came to mind and the words came back to me as I worked in the garden. Just found the lyrics to the song online:

“When the sun came up this morning I took the time to watch it rise
And as its beauty struck the darkness from the sky
I thought how small and unimportant all my troubles seem to be
And how lucky another day belongs to me
And as the sleepy world around me woke up to greet the day
All its silent beauties seemed to say
So what my friend if all your dreams you haven’t realized
Just look around you you got a whole new day to try
Today is mine today is mine to do with what I will
Today is mine my own special cup to fill
To die a little that I might learn to live to take from life that I might learn to give
Today is mine

Like most men I cursed the present to avoid the peace of mind
And raise my thoughts beyond tomorrow and vision there more peace of mind
But as I view this day around me I can see the fool I’ve been
For today’s the only garden we can tend
Today is mine… “

Seems I’d forgotten there for a while what opportunities a new day brings….

And the treasures a garden brings, all this beauty gathered at one small place.

Come on, mom….

Sigurd very tired

You promised the last time that you would go buy new batteries for the camera - all this waiting in between pictures makes me fall asleep! And everytime you say: “Look at mom, you’re such a nice boy” it takes forever still and I can’t stay awake! “Don’t I look cute though even with my eyes closed, mom?!”

Hot…….

candles gave up

And so………. our candles gave up!

Still too hot…

Candles down now

..and there they went! And candles can be lit but cannot stand the heat?! Below the post and picture from yesterday.

Please turn down the heat

Candles in the heat

Could someone please turn down the heat?! Summer has really hit Denmark now and it is 30 degrees (app. 88 deg fahrenheit) in the daytime, very humid and hardly any wind. In our country not many houses have air condition so we are about to melt during the day. Yesterday our candles meltet and they are placed on this table that the sun is not able to reach, they simply bended from the heat! Yes, those silver candle sticks sure could use some polish but it is simply too hot to rub on them right now

Night sky

Night sky, Gods painting

Look at the night sky! Looks like a painting. We took this picture last night, amazed of nature’s beauty and ability to produce these wonders. While the world sometimes seems too much with all the news of war, terror, hunger and people suffering we are giving these wonders to make us stop and just enjoy. Remember to enjoy, to watch the wonders of nature, stop for a minute and watch these free paintings.

Summer’s here!!!

Summer in June, Denmark

In Denmark summer start June 1st. ! Well, someone forgot to tell the weather! Today we have thunder, lightning and hailstorms! So we sit inside looking out at the new garden bench where we were looking forward to sit and relax and enjoy the sun, listen to the birds singing, seeing the beauty of the flowers and have a cup of coffee! We are sure summer’s on it’s way, tomorrow maybe…
